I don't know if birds have languages (鸟语), but I know there is 鸟书 (niao3shu1), a kind of ancient Chinese calligraphy. I personally don't like the style very much as it's too decorative to "decipher".

《彩虹战士》(Rainbowman)原来是电视剧而不是动画片，七十年代初在日本很受小孩（包括我）欢迎，后来还有动画版。我估计，我这个年代的日本男人大多数都知道《彩虹战士》。我很想知道Zhenlijiang女士是否看过这个电视节目。

October 27, 2009 at 9:04 AM三十几年前，我在高中校园文化节上玩过所谓“角色扮演”(cosplay)。我们班的同学全都打扮成日本动漫中的各种人物。 我扮演的是一个日本超人叫《彩虹战士》，制作一件超人服装花了好几天时间。我们在校园里表演后，在市内进行了盛装游行。没想到，走在街上的时候一个男孩儿突然跑过来对我说，“彩虹战士！握握手可以吗？” 这件事让我着实得意了一番，也算是没有白忙！

"shei2" is the colloquial pronunciation of the character "谁", which is also pronounced as "shui2" in written/classical Chinese or in formal speech. In every day conversation, people often say "shei2" instead of "shui2". The same holds for some frequently-used characters such as 这 (zhei/zhe), 那 (nei/na), and 哪 (nei/na).
In short, "shei" is easier to pronounce (or 顺口) than "shui".
P/S. Some say that the sound "zhei-ge" (这个) is originated in "zhe -yi-ge" (这一个).
