May 15, 2010 at 12:24 PMThe basic meanings of 断 and 坏 are "cut" and "break" respectively. So semantically speaking “保险丝断了” seems to be more appropriate than “保险丝坏了”. That said, you can find lots of “保险丝坏了” used on the net.

It seems there is no accepted theory for the origin of right-to-left writing. Some say that's due to the use of scrolls in ancient times, that is to say, right-to-left scrolls are easier for a right-handed reader to open. For the record, oracle bone scripts (甲骨文) were written both from right to left and from left to right.

I think the Chinese sentence should be translated as something like "Also, I've noticed ~" or "Furthermore, I've noticed ~".

May 12, 2010 at 8:49 AMAs far as I know, there is no cold noodle in northeast China, except for Korean 냉면. I guess that's partly because Han people don't like to eat cold food very much. Traditionally, cold food is considered to be bad for health in China.

If it were a beauty contest, the Polish girl would definitely win first prize. She is just cute. It's very difficult for me to resist voting for her, but I've finally made up my mind. I'll vote for you. 加油!
