Actually, I sometimes watch Chinese animations on TV just out of curiosity, and I am always surprised to see how quickly they are developing technically, especially in the field of computer graphic techniques. I hesitate to say this, but the problem is that almost all the works are targeted at young children, probably under the age of ten, and naturally their contents are not sophisticated enough to be worthy of watching for most adolescent people, let alone adults just like me. I do not know which direction Chinese authority wants to set for animations, but I would like to emphasize the most important thing is NOT to produce animations that the government wants people to see, but to produce the works that people, producers included, want to see.

I have just found some formal phrases that contain the word on the Internet, such as 平摊分析，平摊成本，平摊费用 and so on. It looks like that using 平摊 should be rather out of place especially when you are eating and drinking. Anyway, to suggest splitting the bill is fairly embarrassing in China. AA制 (割り勘) is very commonly seen in Japan.
