I think human being’s benign, healthy and well-intentioned “show-off” spirit or tendency is one of the most vital and essential factors in development of the Internet world. If all the people were too modest, humble and shy to “show off” their precious knowledge and opinions, the Internet would certainly be much less interesting. p.s. January 15, 2008 at 6:36 AMEvery time I have my hair cut here in China, which costs me only ten-yuan including shampoo fee, the barber owner always ask me if I would like to dye my hair black. As you might expect, my hair has been turning gray in the past few years, but I would rather let my hair go gray. Most of my Chinese friends seem to have dyed-black hair. 染白头发 (ran3 bai2 tou2 fa5) to dye your hair to hide the gray.

January 14, 2008 at 4:13 AMI don’t smoke, and I naturally hate cigarette smoke. But after I came to China, I found it less annoying to me compared to highly polluted air in my city. If you are really health-conscious and want to live long, I would sincerely recommend that you pack up your belongings and leave China right away! 烟酒不分家(yan1 jiu3 bu4 fen1 jia1) When it comes to tobacco and alcohol, there is no distinction between yours and mine.

January 13, 2008 at 6:40 AM我从小就非常爱看动画片和漫画书， 可我不太喜欢看所谓的三维动画片。 三维做的剧中人其动作确实很漂亮， 但我却觉得动作越流利越不太自然。 我还是想偏袒按老一套技术制作的。 老片猫和老鼠里的追逐多么生动啊。 关于外国电影片名的搞笑翻译问题， 日本电影界已以聪明的方式解决了， 就是说电影名的翻译早就被放弃了。 正像绝大多数外来语一样外国电影 片名的大半都是用片假名来音译的。 希望中国不轻易采取这个简便方法。

But you do not have to worry about dog-eat-dog situation, anyway I had no intention of letting my lovely pet actually eat dog meat, even if she wanted it then. As for sparrows, my boss loves to talk about “the extermination activity” very much when he is drinking, which always makes his companions laugh out loud. I hear that was one of those “SCIENTIFIC” practices compelled by the CCP during the Cultural Revolution.

And she never eats dog meat no matter how hungry she is. The hanzi “剔” has only the first tone, and according to a dictionary, it should be pronounced in 轻声 in case of 挑剔. But it seems that local people commonly say “tiao1 ti4” instead of “tiao1 ti5”.
