September 11, 2007 at 1:04 PMHi Jenny,

September 10, 2007 at 11:26 AMHi goulniky! As you said, the shape of 且 is said to represent ritual bronze vessels which were used in ancient Chinese society. And another theory says it symbolizes male genital organs. Which image do you bring up when you see this character? That’s completely up to you!

September 9, 2007 at 4:14 AMI know why Chinesepod offers us a lot of sport-related lessons these days, but to be blunt, I think there are a bit too many. You still have eleven months left before the Olympics. Of course, I welcome any topic in sports every day only if I really can enjoy seeing the photo of Jenny with her pompoms.

September 9, 2007 at 1:40 AMHi marcuche, You can use Chinesepera-kun, which is a very useful popup dictionary, with Ffox. It supports traditional hanzi too. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3349

September 8, 2007 at 12:33 PMMy boss basically speaks good Japanese, and of course he sometimes makes a mistake. I already got used to listening to them a long ago. So I rarely correct his Japanese nowadays. As for my Chinese, the situation is more or less the same as that. As the result, strange Japanese and Chinese are going to be used forever in my office.

September 7, 2007 at 7:26 AMWow, it seems you guys drink good coffee every day. It’s hard to come by coffee beans in a small city here in China, therefore I always start my day with a cup of Nescafe. I do not need to learn how to say cappuccino in Chinese, but “雀巢” and “咖啡伴侣” are really musts.
