我这个中年人学外语不容易。 再说日本人的外语听力本来 不太好因为我们从小就一直 听着发音很简单的日语长大。 所以日本人一般是不太善于 听发音比较复杂的外国语的。 我虽然听懂几乎所有的课程、 但我还是经常听不懂汉族人 之间的地道而不清楚的口音。 特别是男人说的话很难听懂。 年轻中文学习者还有希望吧！

Hi maxiewawa! ＞　A lot of Japanese words ＞　come from Portuguese too. You are right. Let me show you some examples. Thank you very much, Portugal! たばこ(tabako).......cigarette....tabacco テンプラ(tenpura)....tempura....tempero パン(pan)................bread........pao ボタン(botan)..........button........botao ＞　Even 'arigatou' comes from ＞　the Portuguese 'obrigado'. Sorry, you are wrong. Japanese people began to use the phrase "arigatou" long before the first Portuguese came to Japan in the 16th century. Its original form was "arigatashi" then.

I felt very happy when I first learned the days of the week in Chinese because they were incredibly easy to remember, but now I think they are a bit materialistic. I hear Chinese people began using them at the end of the Qing dynasty(清朝). Not sure.

Hi AZERDocMom! You guessed it right. Japan also has a traditional matchmaking called omiai(お見合い). Young people generally tend to think that it is not a cool way to find their partners, but even they consider omiai to be a last resort for troubleshooting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omiai

Hi AZERDocMom, What a coincidence!!! I also watched that YT video and laughed out a few days ago. I guess that is a scene in a TV drama or a movie and exceptionally humorous for Chinese works. Most of Chinese dramas usually have 普通话 subtitles, and they are really helpful to me.
