July 2, 2007 at 8:53 AMIs something wrong with comments here? I think the atmosphere is basically not so bad compared with other political blogs or something. Lively discussions and flood of posts are much better than a howling wilderness, though sometimes a bit too far.

July 2, 2007 at 5:54 AMHi henning, I understand your logistical problem. Every time I come back from Japan, I am always loaded with books and Japanese food.

July 2, 2007 at 5:17 AMHi henning, You should have bought 康熙字典, even though that cost you extra money. The historic dictionary certainly would have become a nice interior accessory in your study. Among the dictionaries on the above list, I have only 说文解字, but I can't show off it because it is only 20 yuan.

July 2, 2007 at 2:46 AMHi nicolas, You are right. I also love to read postings full of complaints. You should not deprecate such posts. At the same time, I'd like to read comments about Chinese culture too, e.g. 学农 and 军事. So I enjoyed Amber's reply today. Thanks, henning!

July 2, 2007 at 2:17 AMHi Chinesepod, I guess that might be one of the most miserable dialogues ever. To hear the guy being instantly rejected is really a great way to start my blue Monday. Today's dialogue reminded me of my murky past......

July 2, 2007 at 1:10 AMHi marcuche, Here is a list of famous Chinese dictionaries. They contain a great number of hanzi, but as you wrote, most of the listed hanzi are 异体字. The last one on the list contains even out-of-China hanzi characters, e.g. original ones from Korea, Vietnam, and Japan.

July 1, 2007 at 11:55 PMHi AZERDocMom, Wow, you made it. Good for you! The tool is really convenient, though its annotations for 多音字 are incomplete. ps My dog is happy to hear your compliment.

July 3, 2007 at 1:53 AMHi clarence! I like to read questions about 'should we use zuo or zhou?' or other grammatical things very much. I've learned a lot of new knowledge here. I also like to read off-topic posts just like yours, where I can meet lots of English words I probably never find in textbooks. A non-native English speaker who learns Chinese here benefits from any kind of postings. That’s why I love Cpod!
