I guess that might be something like all-hiragana Japanese. I don't have much difficulty reading, for example, the following text. ふつうのにほんじんであれば、たとえひらがなだけでかかれたにほんごであっても、あまりくもなくよみとおすことができます。ですから、かんこくじんがはんぐるだけをもちいて、にほんごどうようにかんごのほうふなかんこくごをなんらししょうなくよんでしまうことも、わたしにはよくりかいできます。 普通の日本人であれば、たとえ平仮名だけで書かれた日本語であっても、余り苦もなく読み通す事が出来ます。ですから、韓国人がハングルだけを用いて、日本語同様に漢語の豊富な韓国語を何ら支障なく読んでしまう事も、私には良く理解出来ます。

July 7, 2007 at 10:52 PMActually, I found today's lesson a little boring. That might be partly due to the surly woman in the picture. Instead, the comments on "there's" and "there're" were useful and interesting to me. I love this proverb; Nothing is lost for ASKING.

July 7, 2007 at 1:49 AMHi Bazza, The above translation by Google is really amazing. After reading that, I translated the same article into Japanese with Yahoo Japan. The result was disastrous. This might be partly because of differences in grammatical structures between the two languages.
