Hi tal

We also have such a stupid customary practice in Japan.

The“了”is not the same as“呢”, which is also used for emphasis. The latter connotes "persuading", but the former doesn't. For example, “忙什么,时间还早呢!”(Why are you in a hurry. We still have time, don't we? )

Hi buchelit

The "了" is for emphasis, and it's often used in combination with "太" or "可".

When you're not sure which one is more appropriate to use, I recommend you use "疼痛" (teng2tong4, hurt, sore), hehe.

婷婷小姐,你根本就没必要着急下结论,千万不要上男人的当了!我保证,以后肯定还会有更理想的结婚对象。现在在中国男人有的是!

Hi prindy

Unlike USA, the PRC, which always claims to love peace, is everyone's friend, provided the country has rich natural resources, hehe.

Hi lujiaojie and connie

Many thanks for the clarification. Looks like I need to listen to the lesson more carefully before I post a comment, hehe. 我真的舍不得离开中文博客。我永远伴随你!

Hi lujiaojie

I'm only getting more and more confused about the usage of "舍不得".
