Hi Wande, I second Right-Wingnut's comments above - in particular, doing transcripts yourself will definitely help your listening comprehension improve (at least it has certainly helped for me). The more people participating in the Transcripts group the better!

Another useful link is this one: http://chinesepod.com/community/conversations/post/11483

This takes you to the "Catalogue of transcripts" within the Transcripts group, split by level, e.g. Intermediate, Upper Intermediate, Media, etc.

Hope to see you in the group soon. I will be back in earnest in a few weeks after my busy season at work starts to subside!

baba, i have a qq account but must admit i never use it - not a big instant messaging fan (other than in our closed work IM network where it can be incredibly efficient and avoids the need to wait for email replies). Never touched sina, renren, kaixinwang. To be honest, I'm just a follower and use whichever product is most efficient at any one time, i.e. when all my crowd were on whatsapp last year, I used whatsapp. Now that weixin is more popular, I'll use weixin. Don't really care, as long as I can stay in touch with my friends with the minimum of effort.

yep, I and my mates all use both whatsapp and weixin (wechat). love the shake the phone function and also the walky talky thingy. it is definitely huge at the moment.

helzcurrah, apologies for the naivety, but what on earth is "scrumping"?! I've clearly been away from home for too long.

pretz, I've just spent the last hour at work talking about year end "true ups". As an auditor, please don't get me started on this one ;-)

John, I'm from the south of England. I can definitely see how the word makes sense, I've just personally never come across it. I'll have to defer to fellow British poddies as to whether this is a US vs British thing - it may just be me being an ignoramus :-) Anyhow, I think I'll try using it in future.
