I've not listened to this lesson yet, but are these new traffic regulations also the reason for the sudden reappearance of seat-belt buckles in Shanghai taxis' back seats the last few weeks? Very positive move.

I'm always told I apologise too much, but I think this is more a personal trait rather than a western vs Chinese thing.

Vera, I think "wo yao qu nimen gongsi" can also refer to the future, e.g. "I am going to go to your office", is that right? Consequently, one needs to use context to know whether the meaning is "I want to go to your office" or "I am going to go to your office".

Shimao, I believe it is just a term for 'party official'. However, I am never sure of how to pronounce it: "cadrer" or "cadray"?

Having played a bit more with the site just now, it seems the "green ticks" are still not showing up in the channel list to indicate whether a lesson is studied or not. Would be good to fix this as well since I recall other users posting on this, so there are clearly those of us that find it a useful feature.

I don't know about itunes (I don't use it) but I can confirm that my Dashboard is now working properly again as of about an hour or two ago. There is also the added bonus that it now shows my latest 20 lessons instead of the 10 that it showed prior to the crash. I also note that it has removed from my feed all the lessons I had marked as studied in the last couple of weeks which is pleasing (I thought I might have to go back and re-mark them as studied once the system was up again).

This is good advice. Before I even start listening to an Intermediate (or higher) lesson, I first open the PDF and then handwrite out the entire lesson in pinyin and Hanzi. Besides massively helping with my reading and writing skills, it also cements the dialogue into my mind before I actually attempt the lesson. When I do listen to the lesson, I then annotate my handwritten script with the key points coming out of the lesson. I am then left with a very powerful tool for reviewing purposes at a later date. I know I could simply print out the PDF and annotate it directly during the lesson. However, I find the act of forcing myself to write the entire lesson in Hanzi first a good use of my time - albeit that the UI lessons take a long time to do this!

Rather sadly, at first I thought this was going to be a lesson on transfer pricing. Must remember to get out more.
