I have a question about the first Expansion sentence:

服务员很热情，我不好意思一件都不买。

(The attendant was really friendly. I was really embarrassed to not buy anything.)

Why is it 不买 instead of 没买？Or could you use either one?  Thanks.

In the grammar tab, the sound level of the sentences varies wildly.  The last group of sentences is practically inaudible.

Technical problem: On the Grammar page for this lesson there are 10 sentences.  I can't get sentences 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 to play.

That looks like the correct site.

I've been taking the new test at Level IV. I find the sample tests at that level are much easier than the real thing. The sample at Level V is more comparable to the actual Level IV, unless they've updated the samples since I last looked.

Super, SUPER topic!  How about an Upper Intermediate lesson on it?

I've taken the HSK a bunch of times, both the old and new versions.  Am now anxiously awaiting results from the May test...

Question -- the word 放 is frequently used in the dialog, translated as "add".  Could you use 加 instead?  What is the difference?  Thanks.

Note to translator on this Grammar section sentence:

他今天穿着西服打着领带看起来挺有派头的
tā jīntiān chuān zhe xīfú， dǎ zhe lǐngdài， kàn qǐlái tǐng yǒu pàitóu de。
He's looking quite panache today in his suit and tie.

You can't use panache this way in English.  It is not an adjective.  You can say "have panache", or you could use the word "dapper".
