June 15, 2010 at 8:50 AMI've never heard this 学员 before, I wonder is it something to do with being a paying customer, rather than a regular school student?
Also, John's right, the western parts of Sichuan are perfect for horse trecking, though being able to say these phrases in 藏族话 might be more useful!

that's the first time I've heard anything even remotely political on CPOD
I like it!
Careful though, lest you too be 和谐'd!

I totally agree, I float between the two levels. I use int for practical vocab and clear sentence structures that I can easily emulate, and I dip into upper-int for more colloquial stuff.
I've found in teaching English that the difference between int and upper-int to be quite large too. (B1-B2 CEFR)
To answer John's question, I would prefer less content and more explanation. Given that some of the content is pretty deep and tricky to use, I think it warrants clear examples.

hyperborean: I too would like the answer to that one. Is the convention to say 我们发工资 for getting paid?
even though that literally means to pay?
people at CPOD: I think a QingWen on payment verbs is in order!

June 15, 2010 at 9:24 AM很实用的一节课,谢谢老师们!
我现在觉得很骄傲,因为这是我第一次不老师们,自己读高级课程的课。
虽然我的写作能力明明不好,我阅读能力好像提高了!哈哈
