here's a query:

I've never seen 冷菜 (leng cai) in all my years in China, it's always been (both on menus and in conversation) 凉菜 (liang cai) - cool dishes rather than cold dishes.

is this a regional thing? I've spent most of my time in the west of China, am I showing myself up as a 大土包子 in front of all you Shanghai slickers?
