Thanks for letting me know james. For next time how do you go about raising a request?

Agree it's great to have a Brexit lesson. The analysis is a bit wayward. Is this intended to represent China's failure to grasp the relationship between the Uk and Europe?

Oh and a lot of mistakes in the pinyin on the vocab. At least three are obviously wrong.

It's still very clunky. I stopped the video half way through and it seems have locked up Safari on my iPhone. Sure it will be OK with a restart but it's a bit irritating. Still remain to be convinced about the video content. Isn't a podcast by definition an on the go medium?

Yes, I mean something else.

If you listen to Fiona's summary at the end of any of the 'difference between' Qing Wens (such as this one) it should be fairly clear. Eg

XX more formal

XX describes an abstract state

XX must be used with a noun

etc. The example questions illustrate the usage but it would be useful to have the usage defined.

Have to disagree with zaphekiah. I always listen on the go. I don't see what the video format adds at this level and the sound quality isn't as good. Stick to audio at Advanced pleeeease.

I always think Fiona's summaries are really helpful in giving a quick guide to the subtle nuances of similar words. Do you think it might be possible to get a line on each usage on the page on the web site where you run the dialogue. I always learn something from every Qing Wen recently but having been learning for ten years now (nine and a half with Chinespod), inevitably a lot of it is already familiar to me. It would be really helpful to be able to reinforce the new bit by seeing it written down. Sometimes I find I can't remember and it always seems like too much of a chore to listen to the whole thing again to get to a twenty second section.

Thanks Gwilym. It's appearing now.

It doesn't seem to show in the Podcast feed either. For a horrible moment I thought there was no Advanced lesson this week. I know I'm always complaining about mistakes but it just wouldn't be the same without one.

Good lesson. Although I do tend to agree it was pretty easy for an advanced lesson. Also shouldn't the 蛰 in the vocab on the OS app be 蜇?

Thanks for the reply. Don't you think that maybe both words ought to have appeared in the supplementary vocabulary? It is slightly odd not having the title of the lesson in the vocab when it's an expression that doesn't appear in dictionaries (or not in mine anyway).

I suspect I'm like a lot of Advanced listeners in that, although I've been listening at Advanced for a little while, some of the detail of the discussion escapes me at first listen. I usually listen again when I've read the dialogue and listened to the review. And discussions about homonyms in Chinese can be challenging at the best of times.

And thanks to those behind the scenes that have apparently fixed the app. That will make my lunchtime studying a lot more convenient :-)
