Thanks for this lesson. My parents are 華僑 since they were born in China. I've always thought I was a 華僑。I didn't know I was a 華裔.

這是非常有趣的課。 我只是好奇,他們在當場修嗎? repair on the spot? 我們在菲律賓也有“修東西的“, 他們背著一個大袋子,袋子裏面有很多修東西的物品。平常他們坐在路上修雨傘或鞋子。要修的東西交給他,然後再回來搜集和付錢。

Hello Amber, I very much enjoyed this week’s program. Thanks:) Hi Hitokiri6993, That is true about Chinese families in the Philippines. I would say the parents are the ones who are strict and not the children. One reason I suppose is that they desire to keep the Chinese ethnicity and family traditions for generations. Another would often be cultural differences. Older generations are not as open to changes or differences whereas younger generations understand that “different” does not necessarily mean wrong. It’s great that the rate of inter-racial marriages in Filipino-Chinese community have increased through the years ;) Hello JP, Your limerick was lovely... it's akin to my high school homework :) I haven't been to Shanghai, but I certainly hope I got the answer correct.

can you use this pattern as a question? e.g. will you deliver to me as soon as I pay? is this correct? 我一付錢, 你就送嗎?
