A little help with pronunciation (fayin) please.  I thought that the R in rang4 would sound a little more like the J in the French pronunciation of Jean.  But I heard Amber several times say rang4 as if it were more like the English word wrong.

I agree with infusiastic. Great lesson and great photos.  I also agree with Panda2.  The best kao ya is in the south.  I have had kao ya twice in Beijing and it was ok, but Guilin and Nanning have better.  Even my French mother makes better.  I have eaten it twice with my girlfriend from Fushun and we even eat the eyes. She tells me that when several people are eating the duck together, the elders or more respected people are supposed to get the eyes.  Has anyone else heard that?

Thank you Amber and Changye.

Here in the US we have something called a "honey do list", I'm sure that I will need to know that soon too! LOL

How would I say "I need to mow the lawn"?  When I speak with my girlfriend I am always just saying "my grass is tall", and she knows what I am refering to, but I'd like to be a little more precise.

Changye, thank you very much for the excellent presentation of the pinyin with tones, the english and the chinese characterization.  I wish that everything could be presented in that manner.  It makes it so useful beginners such as myself.

Glad to see you guys going back through the old lessons too.  There are many good questions posted out there and often they are unanswered.  Keep up the good work CPod.

"Piaoliang ke." ???

What a riot, great dialog. JP- "What if I were a female dog and wanted to say.....".  LOL.  These kinds of things really help clear up things that I often find confusing.  Keep up the good work.

My dog is quite the linguist.  He knows his name and comes when called in 3 different languages.  Boss in English, Laoban (老板) in chinese and Jefe in Spanish.

I have to say that the getting "gussied up" here really (真的 zhende) does show.Women still dress feminine here. In the US it is diffuclt to tell where the mens clothing (衣服 yifu) department ends and the women's starts.
