Thanks CPod, as a newbie with a girlfriend from Fushun I am constantly getting corrected to add 'r' to the end of things that I never hear when listening to you guys. LOL

    and

打 dǎ / to play ??

I never forget (Wo congbu jide) to listen to Qing Wen, but being a Newbie I sometimes am unable to memorize (Wo jibuzhu) the content.

好运 Hao yun Good Luck, I am new here to chinesePod as well and I too have tried several other things before settling here.  I think one of things that will make this successful is the ability to immerse yourself in the language and culture without actually being physically located in China.

Is the difference between naer and nali just a regional preference or is there a conotational difference as well?
