Thanks Aileen for your comments. This is exactly what had happened.. our earlier news lessons almost always took the full news. We realized non native learners may find such lessons challenging and hence we introduced the news to go format. Hope the new format while shorter achieves our goals of helping learners learn mandarin and news at the same time.

Hi thank you for your questions. “一二” means一两个;少数. Going back to the sentence, “isn’t it enough to be able to see a bit or some happiness.”. When we say someone 看起来很丧 it means he looks depressed, down 情绪消沉, 低落. We use 多愁善感 to refer to persons who are melancholic, moody or sentimental in nature.

标准的写法是“其他”，用于人、物、事都可以 (for both people or things)。“其它”通常用于事物 (usually things or objects) ，原本没有这种写法，现在也逐渐被接受。
