Jenny with her pompoms, that would be great. Jenny without her 'pompoms', that would be fantastic-Haha.

On a hot summer day I found the iced coffee of Starbucks in Shanghai quite refreshing. But the few wholly Chinese run coffee bars I sampled in Shanghai and Mianyang were really excellent although not all that cheap by Chinese standards.

Bostonphil, Thanks for your correction, I'm wsriting this with egg on my face, as I should have known better. It looked strange when I was reading it, but I was too lazy to look into it more carefully. Anyway it seems I have let the cat out of the bag that I am not a native Anglo-Saxon.

One way to tell the difference is (but I can't say it in Chinese) look for the adam's apple (and that's as far down as you are allowed to look!)

Oh dear... "To bow or not to bow, that's the question" - Shakearrow. The Dao community in Taiwan seems to do a lot of bowing.....Yi jugong, zai jugong, san jugong...and so on, all in font of the shrine in their home temple. My friends taught me the ritual so that I could do the right thing when I entered their home. As for hugging and kissing on the cheek, I have done it all with the men and the women (in that order) when staying with my friends in Shanghai and Chengdu. Although they did not reciprocate, they also did not seem to mind at all.

Ron in DC Are you only 'virtually' sure or are you really sure? Your humor is not my humour.

The subtle humour (not humor) of the last sentence between brackets of your introduction was wonderful!
