I know these are Chinese lessons, but may I be so bold as to comment on the last sentence of your introduction. It says:"So there's always options." I know everybody seems to say it these days, but strictly (and correctly) it should be :"So there're always options", as the word "options" is plural. You see, I am not American, so I prefer correct English!

Why do you keep on referring to the Standard Chinese language as Mandarin? To me a mandarin is a fruit or some creature from past Chinese dynasties. People on the mainland do not know about Mandarin. To them it is putonghua or standard Chinese, that's the way I was taught! That's my only complaint. I still think the program is superb!

The Chinese pod programme is the greatest invention since sliced bread. I was at a Chinese school for 10 years and I'm still at the beginners stage.( I am 74, maybe that accounts for it! Hehe.) I have learnt more from Chinese pod in 6 months!
