July 17, 2011 at 5:26 PM大家好, 我在你的观点感兴趣 (dajia hao, wo zai nide guandian ganxingqu)
personally I don't think that a lot of repetitive homework would in any case suit the building up of mental power. Of course "repetitio est mater studiorum" as the old Romans already claimed. And certainly learning by heart is a means of good brain-training.For mastering the 汉字 p.e. a thorough repetition is indeed indispensible. I spent in the fifties of the last century nine years in a classical German residential school with Latin and ancient Greek as first languages. We had to spend about two to three hours time every day to do the home work (depending on the grades we got). There was enough 'spare-time' to have a lot of sport activities, to play instruments, to do handicrafts, playing theater 等等。We had at that time a lot of french scholars in exchange for a trimester. They envied us because of our little home work. They had in contrast to do homework for long hours back home, learning by heart, solving unending math problems and the like.
I am interested in what other Poddies lived through at school and what they think about the right amount of homework

July 9, 2011 at 8:48 AMthis is indeed a thorny issue.you tried hard to explain, but
it still is very intricate to differentiate
BTW what about some more expressions for paying attention:
料理 liao3li3,坚守jian1shou3,照管zhao4guan3,照看zhao4kan4,留心liu2xin1?
