First off, you're outrageously obnoxious.

Secondly, what makes you think that the contents of this lesson (a guy and girl going to a park and talking about jobs) aren't really representative of Chinese culture? "Western Chinese wannabe...?" haha, what a joke

Third, go ahead and post in Chinese. I'm sure if your Chinese comments have been deleted in the past it was because they were inappropriate.

do you seriously think you could be at an elementary level and listen to a podcast that's entirely Chinese and learn that way? Minghuiguangbodiantai's comment was uncalled for, especially the parts about common sense and laziness. If you have a suggestion or concern regarding the site, you can convey it without condoning such a rude comment

hearing China referred to as the "one billion" nation has gotten so old. I've never heard India referred to as the "one billion" nation, and there are well over a billion people in India. In fact, India's population will soon surpass China's, but I don't want to go off topic.

The main thing I want to say is that there definitely aren't a billion Chinese names. In fact, lots of Chinese people have the same names, and besides that "name culture" is very different in China. I think Chinesepod wants to keep the lessons natural and focused on language-learning.

thanks Connie. Is there any difference in their regional usage?

is there a difference between 胳膊(gēbó) and 手臂 (shǒubì) ? The dictionary has both of these words listed as "arm".

I feel like almost every time I see a picture of Shanghai, it's some version of today's lesson photo. That Bund area is cool, but I was over it years ago

if you mean the second comma, that's actually not incorrect. In this particular situation, the second comma can be left out, but it's still correct to add it.

Depending on the context, sometimes it is even necessary to add a comma before "and" if the writer wants to make it clear that the last two things listed aren't one unit, but rather two separate things. For example, "My favorite things to eat are hamburgers, hot-dogs, fish, and chips." In this sentence, I added a comma before "and" to make it clear that I'm not talking about the famous British dish "fish and chips", but rather "fish", and "chips". Adding a comma before "and" doesn't necessarily have to be for emphasizing the last two things are separate; it's up to the writer to decide whether to add it, unless it actually is necessary to add it.
