I always carry my destination and return destination cards in Chinese for these guys. None speak English. One time I had to just get out and walk back to my hotel because he drove me a few blocks before he gave up trying to understand me. Maybe with CP.com I will finally be free to explore! Nice lesson. Thank you.

Clay,

Tell them about chili con queso, fajitas and Margaritas, Tex-Mex, not Spanish or Mexican, and definitely American. Amber is 美丽 but we can't let a Canadian dis our awesome food here in the US!

Loved this lesson. Connie was hilarious.

Green tea is proven to be healthy. It is an ancient belief to regard a warm drink as more healthy in China. I will not give up my cold Margarita with fajitas in Texas but most meals I now drink hot tea.

Amber, great job. You are always interesting and fun.

You two are such nice people. But, I wish these Newbie lessons were longer. They generally have such good content.

But, it is an incentive for nonmembers to join. The expansion section is very good.

I met my first native Russian in Shanghai. This is a great idea for a lesson...thoroughly enjoyable.

This lesson was cute but I didn't know we had this issue  I am always taking several showers a day in China because air conditioning is not so common.

Anyway, now I can buy condoms and antipersperant with confidence in China thanks to Chinesepod.com! Thanks!

This is a cute lesson. I really enjoyed seeing Ken in the discussion.

There is a rule that 不 is a rising tone when it preceeds a falling tone. Although you will find it pronounced this way, it is still listed in pinyin as a fourth tone. Other examples are:

不太

不用不用

去,

忙 and

会.

Amber,

This was just the kind of lesson I was looking for. I visit China but no one has cooked for me yet at their home. One more thing, you are just so great in the way you tell us as much as you can with your side comments. When I first came here I thought, "what is a 'Dear Amber'?". Now, I would never miss one of your lessons. Thanks. You are just fantastic.
