Very good lesson but are you guys on speed or what?

In the expansion the sentence:

他们一定要香港。is translated "They must go to HK".

How then would you say: "They definitely want to go to HK"?

In other words, isn't the latter a more accurate translation of the above Chinese sentence?

Thanks.

If 你们随便吃 means "Eat whatever you like!" (imperative), how would I say: "You eat anything!"? Perhaps? Thank you.

I often experience syntax-related problems: as I test myself in the expansion part of the lesson, I come up with a different order for complements from the one you post and wonder whether it is a grammatically correct alternative. Could you possibly provide one or two alternatives when they exist? For instance you write: 我们做朋友很多年了。 Would it be as correct to say: 我们很多年做朋友了。? Thank you. Great course otherwise.

Are the rules for the placement of 了 explained anywhere? Thanks.

How do I ask that MSG not be used? Is it appropriate and will the cook comply? Thanks.

Thanks, John. The reason I asked is because the negative form of this sentence appears in the expansion part of this lesson, without the grammatical point ("comparative of equality") having been touched on by your team. The positive and negative forms turn out to be quite different in structure. Maybe a subject for a PhD thesis! What happened to my face? How can I remove it? Jacques

How would you say: "it was as much fun there as I thought it would be"? Thanks.
