"so-and-so is a creampuff"
It is used to imply a guy does not seem very manly and also to refer to a sports team that is not that good.

In this lesson we used "zěnme zū?" meaning "how much does it cost to rent?" Is there any other instance in which the word:
zěnme
is used to ask how much/many?
For "how?" as in "how many?" we usually say "duō shǎo...?", i.e., "duō shǎo qiān?" (how much money?), "duō shǎo qì chē?" (how many cars?), etc. and for "how?" as in "how to...?" we typically use "zěnme...?", i.e., "zěnme qù?" (how to go?) or "zěnme shuō?" (how to say?).
Here we are using "zěnme" to ask how much, which I had not seen before. Is this unique to the word "zū" or are there other cases? Xiè xie.

April 29, 2009 at 8:57 PMNǐ hǎo, great acting! Was that an actual street vendor?? I remember they always seem to yell when they talk, just like he did, funny guys! Wǔ KUÀI!! They do the fourth tone with gusto!:) The acting and special effects definitely make the lessons more memorable. Sometimes I remember the *entire* dialog. Good stuff.
Question: what is the most *common* word for "haggle", i.e., negotiating prices on the street? I have heard:
tán jià
and
tǎo jià huán jià
