虽然我在美国有三十多年开车的经验,但是我个人在中国不敢开车,因为我不习惯在中国的开车模式,所以在中国我不会有这个找停车位的问题。

Yes, most likely 晒黑的晒; something like the difference between air drying your clothes and sunning them.

I think the actual situation is that the "air conditioner" is pruducing smell rather than heat.

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

@bababardwan, 应该的。手多就减小负担嘛。其实翻译不是特别难,你的付出比我的多。不过内容让我想哭。

@Bababardwan, listen to the last minute or so of the media lesson about not harvesting the organs of executed criminals, and you will know essentially all that I know. I think your Chinese is good enough that you should be able to follow what Jenny and David are saying.

I heard something similar from someone else privately a couple weeks ago. My impression was that it was a big surprise for the people affected. Then there was an interruption in the posting of new podcasts and that picture of a monitor with a keyboard shoved through it. When I attempted to renegotiate my guided subscription, I was told my teacher would not be available after the end of this month, and was encouraged to arrange an orientation session with someone teaching from Singapore.

The choice of lesson topic in which to make the announcement seems like it might be David's sense of humor, or maybe it is just coincidence.

The lack of information on why this was done, who did it, and what is coming in the future, is fertile ground for much speculation, but I basically don't know anything about any of that. Perhaps, Cthulhu bought the Chinesepod brand to lure people into his cult.

Given the odd complaint about Jenny's Mandarin being non-standard, Taiwan strikes me as an odd place to relocate Chinesepod. Taiwanese and mainlanders can understand each other's Mandarin, but there are many differences in word choice and pronunciation, and a strong preference for Traditional characters over Simplified ones. I personally don't care about this, I already have a foreign accent which I won't rid myself of in this lifetime. Overlaying it with a cute Taiwan lilt, is not all bad.

While there were some topics that Chinesepod has had to treat delicately, I can't think of anything that I want to hear more about that would necessitate a move to Taiwan. My feeling was that Chinesepod has given me a pretty good sense of what can be talked about, which is interesting in itself.

Anyway, the Cthulhu theory makes as much sense to me as anything I can reason for myself, and it makes no sense at all.

In the media lesson that was released today 12/25/2014, Jenny and David said goodbye and basically confirmed the rumor that Chinesepod production is moving to Taiwan. I don't know what this will mean for future lesson content, and it seems that whoever is running Chinesepod is not ready to make an official statement about this.

I do know that I will miss Jenny and David and some less visible contributors to Chinesepod greatly. I have listened to and enjoyed their shows daily since early 2007. Their humor, humanity, creativity, skill and hard work is very apparent in what they have produced.
