December 5, 2007 at 5:19 AMIt seems to me that the living standard is about 1:1 for dollars to RMB, but the exchange rate is 1:7.X. So, life on RMB in the US would not be pleasant.

November 27, 2007 at 3:05 AMClaygroup, yes, I'd rather have mistaken translations than none. It is often helpful and will keep me on my toes otherwise (I think I can spot the outright bogus ones). As to shorter dialogs, I prefer the present length or longer. I'm getting faster at going through them, and wanting to increase input rather than decrease it. But, that's just me.

November 25, 2007 at 6:51 AMI really appriciate the English translations on the dialog rollovers. However, to look a gift horse in the mouth, some of them could use a proof-reading. For example, 表现 was translated as "to show off more". I seem to remember one word where the first instance had no translation, but the second instance did. More generally, it would be helpful if proper names were denoted with “名字” 比如 “姚明”， “地名” 或者 “品牌” 比如 “二锅头” 。 I should know by now that if I run into two or three characters that make no sense together, its a proper name, but it can still keep me guessing a while. I have heard of Yao MIng, but 二锅头 had me in a quandry for a long while. Or, I suppose, now that the rollovers include translations, no translation could signify a proper noun, but that doesn't seem to be the only reason a translation might be missing.
