March 5, 2009 at 5:54 AMGhost in the Shell has to be my favourite anime, the two movies, the S.A.C 1st and 2nd Gigs and the final S.A.C movie: Solida State Society. Priceless. Complex storyline involving intrigue, literature, philosophy, sociology, future tech, science, action, sex, and just all round coolness.
Production IG, the studio/company that produces it also has many other great titles such as Blood+ etc.

March 4, 2009 at 12:58 PMWe have a national passtime in Australia that was born from necessity: cane toad hunting and cane-toad cricket. We usually use golf clubs, cricket bats and grass hockey sticks. The cane toad was imported from south America to combat some bug or another that was eating the cane fields. They then multiplied out of control hence kids used to be initiated in the time old cane-toad hunt.
These days it is seen as cruelty to cane-toads. Although I used to love it as a kid, I now do my best to avoid harming any animals but the ones I eat at the dinner table. Even then I'd hope they are raised in okay conditions and slaughtered quickly.

March 4, 2009 at 2:23 AMThe cell reception in the Zhongshan Park area can be quite lousy at times. I guess the sheer volume of people here is pushing the mobile networks to the point of overload.
That being said, sending sms's has never been a problem.

Also I'd like to say that the feedback for this lesson has been great so far. This lesson was truly a labour of love and I'd like to thank the chief script writer of this dialogue 林辉 for the depth of research that went into it. Being someone who isn't into Manga/anime, I must say he did an awesome job putting the key elements of Ghost in the Shell into this dialogue. Also thanks to Jenny and PearltowerPete, Connie and Jiaojie for adding their own lengthy research and expertise into the selection of jargon for this dialogue. David and Zhangfeng, once again did an awesome job portraying the die-hard anime fan, and Zhangfeng the slightly ambivalent but helpful store owner, and finally Joy for her patience in the editing of this dialogue. I had her making so many tweaks to the timing of the music etc. THANKS!!!
I hope to do more with this kind of stuff in future.
