Posted on: Alcoholic Attitudes
November 20, 2013 at 2:51 PMI found this lesson's suggestion very surprising, in that the almost universal attitude to drinking that I have experienced from Chinese people (admittedly predominantly women) is that to drink anything is very bad. I think that many of them have had some bad experiences themselves with drunken men.
My experience is that there is a completely different attitude to drinking in China compared with (I know best) Europe - England, France .... In Europe there is a long tradition of appreciating wine and beer in moderation (and sometimes to excess), but as experiences in their own right, whereas in China alcohol seems to just to be used to get drunk.

November 18, 2013 at 6:40 AMAh - new recurring billing - I didn't know others had complained. I was caught by that recently and was pretty annoyed at it too.
Where does Jenny 'deal with this' please?

November 18, 2013 at 6:30 AMI often have had similar problems.
I also had a problem with internet explorer not drawing the line between two selections in the exercise tab, although it was ok with firefox.
There seems to be a general degradation on the site which is sad and a little worrying

November 15, 2013 at 9:43 AMWow nobody has correct this or commented even!
Indeed this lesson seems most unpopular if we go by the lack of comments

November 15, 2013 at 9:31 AMYou are trying to make Chinesepod lose face! You forget that nothing else matters (ie not losing face)

November 12, 2013 at 8:57 PMwell I can't hear the 'qian' either! and I agree that I can't hear the zhang but hear zhao. I usually pride myself on a better ear than that. I would welcome an (unbiased) native speaker view

There is a mistake in the vocab section which translates 收听 as accept.
