By the way, I haven't used Chinesepod for some time, but now, when I add a comment, it immediately reports that it was input one hour ago, and gives me no chance to edit my comment thereafter...

thanks. I am using Firefox, and have just tried them again and they are all ok!! I do love the unrepeatability/un-reproduceability of web 'technology'

There are a number of audios in the grammar section that are faulty.  In general many of them have the beginning cut off

Amazing sentence in expansion section "First give me 100,000 kuai. If you don't love me, then I won't give it back to you."

I heard tell that an English acquaintance of mine, of rather modest means, went on a tour with a Chinese tour group, but he was continually pestered to spend money, presumably on the basis that all laowai are rich.

I haven't listened to the lesson yet, but here is a definition of grassroots - hope it is relevant:

WC is used in France but they pronounce it in their own way, sounds like 'vaysay'

We don't SAY WC in England either.  It is used on signs to show you where they are.

We probably most usually say Toilet(s).  We don't use 'bathroom' which is American.  There are many other slang words though in common use.

thanks - so after 8 years trying to hear tones, I still have a long way to go!

My mistake

In the expansion sentences the 好 in the sentence:

你的病刚好,一个月内不能吃冰的东西。

is pronounced with a fourth tone (or do my ears deceive me?). Is there a reason/rule or is it just one of those things we learners have to accept!?
