Posted on: Ways to Say "Stubborn"
July 19, 2014 at 7:07 AMThis all seems to be over the top.
To be perfectly honest Mr 'Полугаевский', I do find the English of the introduction very slightly unnatural, but that is of no consequence, and I agree with you that it clearly should not be the subject of criticism.
If really wish to share qualifications, I am English, have Master's degrees from two universities including Oxford, have a teaching qualification, speak several languages, some fluently.
I have yet to write my book, or indeed any post on this site as long as yours :-)
Incidentally why do you identify with Полугаевский rather than any other great player?

July 19, 2014 at 6:55 AMMy punt is as follows:
有什么区别吗 = Is there any difference?, 有什么区别 = What is the difference?
Is that correct?

July 18, 2014 at 1:50 AMJust started to listen to this lesson.
The guy sounds like he is in some sort of echo chamber/down the end of a tube... or ... Hard to hear what he is yelling about (My hearing does have issues)
Is that intentional?

July 8, 2014 at 9:03 AMI have just listened to this lesson once through only, and since it is at the limit of my abilities will need to revisit several times.
One small thing I spotted was that Jenny and David seemed to be discuss 接踵而至 while the pdf vocab has 接踵而来. I assume they mean the same.
Interesting that you have included the audio within the lesson, so no copyright issues I guess. Thank you for no background music to the news broadcast, and virtually inaudible for the rest.
If I were to think too much about what animals I was eating, I would have to become vegetarian.

July 7, 2014 at 8:55 PMDavid: So eating the 'erbs' is not sophisticated but throwing them on the street is part of the cure...? How can we take 中药 seriously?

July 7, 2014 at 4:56 PMIt may be that some non native English speakers may not appreciate the somewhat subtle meaning of 'It's only a mosquito', which you describe as containing a value judgement, so they may not be able to answer your question precisely.

July 5, 2014 at 9:04 AMSurely 第几个 is similar to the Englilsh 'which one?'
There is confusion in my mind between 哪个? and 什么? but you did not deal with this. For example, simply: 什么东西? 哪个东西? usage.
I didn't catch what Shanell objected to as being sexist though ...
