It is just like foreign friends say nihao without the tones or in a wrong way,and we may think does he meant i am a 泥薅(ni2hao1)(a kind of vegetable)？

只是有些中国人把hello变成中文了。给它加了声调，把它变成了声、韵母的发音形式。

Chinese people like to stare at other people,we call it "围观"in chinese. It can be a very bad custom sometimes. I feel sorry that there were always many people stared at you when you didn't want to be a big-star only because of your apprearence.
And about the chinese language thing, I know that there are many foreign friends can speak very well in chinese,just like the people here in Cpod. But i think it is still a kind of miracle to find out that foreign people can speak chinese for the normal chinese. Sometimes we just be lack of confidence.
But i cannot promise not to stare at you with a big surprice on my face if i happened to see you on the street since i've seen your picture in another thread :)

I have read the thread about the laowai thing published by baba&xiaophil&tal. Now i have known"laowai"or"foreigner"is an offentive word in some western cultrues. Yeah I know it now ,that's something i didn't know before.
I thought for a while,but still cannot think up any suitable word to describe the people from another country,especailly not an Asian country.
So i think the best way is to say nothing to"call"a foreigner,just the way we treat chinese people since 有朋自远方来，不亦乐乎！hehe.

And i like it ! Just like i call my mother as laoma,father as laoba,boss as laoda.
