February 14, 2011 at 9:10 AMMy teacher shared 忐忑 with me。I couldn't get it out of my head for days.
There is a more sedate version where she sings with an a cappella group. It's much more calm by comparison.

Posted on: Which is better: China or the USA?
January 1, 2011 at 4:46 PMThe implication is that you are in China. The other person might think you are living in China. You could answer 一个星期差不多。 yī ge xīnqī chàbuduō. "About 1 week."

September 7, 2010 at 6:16 AMI think Virtual Box is your best bet. If you have install media for window making a whole Windows entity is probably better than trying Wine. If you have a working windows install -- you can convert/copy that to a VM and then use it with VMware under Linux.

August 18, 2010 at 6:06 AM中国石油 is one of the companies, what are the others?
@John -- it seem like the gas stations are slowly being replaced with pharmacies and the occasional Starbucks.

August 18, 2010 at 6:01 AModdly enough the price of ~4L of gas in China was similar to the cost in the states.

May 15, 2011 at 2:26 PMI would say keep listening. Also listen to Qing Wen. Sometimes you will learn something that you might not fully understand or have the confidence to use when you speak--but it can definitely help listening. Grammar and listening to a different group of speakers is also helpful.
Two more things: review Ele and Newbie lessons that you studied in the past. Unless the Newbie lesson has completely unfamiliar vocab, you should be able to dissect it pretty quickly. (I start with just the dialog and work out -- can I get it from what I know and the context?)
second: Study lessons at different levels that are on the same or similar topics. It helps build vocab, and as you go up the grammar and word choice is incrementally more sophisticated.
BST and Qing Wen are two more sources and can be fun outside of the normal lessons. 加油!
