Oooh, that sounds like fun, indeed! I think I'll be going to go to a pub somewhere here in Shanghai, with both British and German friends. Already looking forward to it :-)

Is it an American English thing to say, "I forgot X at Y"?? As a British English speaker, I don't think I'd ever say: "I forgot my sunscreen at the hotel". I'd probably say: "I left the sunscreen at the hotel", relying on context and intonation to express it was a mistake.

Can you use 留 / liú (leave) to express the same thing here? Or must you use 忘 ?

i.e. 我把防晒霜留在 宾馆了

It's great to learn that you feel closer to your mother from learning Mandarin, thank you for sharing that with us :-)

Where is your mom from?

Hopefully when you practice Chinese more with her, this will give you more confidence to speak with other people too - and then you will definitely be able to remember the vocabulary more easily... Good luck!!

Thank you! It's good to be back :-)

When everyone is back in the office tomorrow (after Dragon Boat Festival), I'll follow-up on the exercises here. No free pass!

I can't see it either, I'll let the team know. Thanks for pointing that out, mjvito!

Maybe they should just rename the show "The Life of Brian China Rush" and be done with it? In many ways it would be more fitting.

Yeah, he's quite a character... we always called him Brian instead of Alan, and he couldn't understand how we could possibly not know his name, failing to appreciate that we might be taking the p*ss ;-)
