May 14, 2012 at 7:46 AMI would say that when you add 了 in this sentence, it puts the information in the present : "Now he is 8 months". It's the same when you say 现在几点 ? (Xiànzài jǐ diǎn ?) or 几点了 ? (Jǐ diǎn le ?) What time is it (now) ? But I agree with Iaing, no one can fully explain 了.

May 9, 2012 at 6:21 AMI think that when we're talking about subways, 线 is a measure word itself. But I'm not sure.

May 4, 2012 at 5:50 AMI think that to call a taxi by phone is 叫 车. That's this way I saw it in this lesson:
http://chinesepod.com/lessons/help-calling-a-cab#discussion-tab
But I'm not sure. If anyone can tell...

May 3, 2012 at 12:49 PMThanks John ! It's clearer this way and I'll do what you tell me to do: pay attention to what Chinese people say.

May 3, 2012 at 12:33 PMWhat I love with Chinesepod is that even if the topic is not one I would use when I'm in China (this one, by example), there is always some words or patterns that are worth to be remembered and studied. That's really a great job !!!

May 2, 2012 at 9:18 AMHi Connie ! I'm always confused, why is it 中国的歌 and not 中国歌 ? What's the difference ? Do both have sense ? And what is the difference with something like 中国文学 or 中国茶 ?
