谢谢你的“爆好”解释,我也想知道这两个说法对不对。

July 29, 2009 at 7:09 AMHi changye
Yeah, I was aware of the word 酷, but there must be more. I see a lot of cool looking Chinese kids out there. They must not be limited to one word.
对的,我已经意识到了这个酷词,但是中文里肯定有其他的.我看过好多很酷年轻人了, 他们不会只限于一个词.

July 29, 2009 at 3:28 AMI have two questions
One, I think that if we are talking about fast cars, we should use 'cool' talk. Maybe I'm wrong, but words such as 还可以 and 不错 just don't sound cool enough. I would like to say something more like:
That's sweet/rad/awesome/wicked/bad-ass.
How do we get that same 'cool' feel in Chinese? Can we say 棒极了? 真厉害? 还有别的吗?
Two, is there a difference between 发动机 and 引擎?

July 29, 2009 at 3:25 AM这个课程棒极了!小时候,我爸爸一直有"改装赛车杂志"的订阅.
关于那个女的,他太麻烦,应该放松,开车很快好玩极了!

July 28, 2009 at 1:37 AMGot a question or two:
Is there a difference between 商场 and 购物中心? I'm sure there is some difference, but are they fairly interchangeable?
合算's definition really should be "worth buying". Is that right. I mean, we can't say, "去看这部电影很合算," right? (The meaning being, this movie is good, not this movie is cheap.)

July 28, 2009 at 1:30 AM哈哈哈!Jenny,你就是我的偶像。这是我的新口头语:
“不看星球大战就不算了解美国”
拿我这一代人来说,我完全同意。

It seems http://perapera.wordpress.com/ is blocked in China. Well, that is frustrating. I tried downloading it through a proxy, but I couldn't access the app this way. Any tech people out there know a way around this?

July 30, 2009 at 1:27 PMThanks ustmike,
Most of those are new for me, but I must confess the pinyin one I stumbled on before but amazingly forgot about until you just reminded me. Well, I know some people are probably wondering a little bit about that last part, but perhaps ChinesePod won't appreciate me spelling it out too much, so for those who don't mind a little pg-13 Chinese, please click here.
Don't get too excited. You will be let down.
