@hydrospell

I think you've got the idea, however I think high maintenance also includes attention, as in the girls always want their men to pay attention to them, take them out, go shopping etc...

I just tried 贵养 on my girlfriend who was asking me to do the laundry and she didn't get it. She could guess at the meaning but had never heard it before. We're in Mainland China though.

@miantiao

Hey! I do that too!!! But I just moved and my squatter changed to a sitter... ah well it was good while it lasted.

@pete

I'm always hesitant to go at school, there are doors but those small, half sized doors that only go to up your chest. Well anyways it's not uncommon for a passer-by to see me doing my thing and walk over to engage me in "practicing oral English" conversation while being more or less completely exposed. They usually don't even notice that it's a bad time to ask if I like Chinese food or can use chopsticks.

Girls have it really bad it in China, for guys at least if the toliet is REALLY nasty you can always run outside and find a place to let it rip. Girls are pretty much stuck with

For those of you coming to visit China, please be forewarned that many restrooms here are an experience in itself.

I personally believe that there is always a worse toliet out there. Always.

@paulinurus:

I've been told high maintenance is something like "zuō", although I don't know the character. I've used it before but find that only half the people I know even know the word themselves. Usually gets a few laughs too.

你太zuo!!!

I would love if someone could anwser this question aswell!!

@Joachim

Any contemporary Chinese poetry any time soon?? (If this makes any sense at all.)

Good question.

Great lesson,

I think enjoying these poems from your own standpoint is very important. As someone who is really struggling with learning Chinese right now I often find myself cringing at how much work Pete (probably) had to do to arrive at the point where we could take apart classical Chinese poems. Really crazy.

Listen. Enjoy. Learn. Move on.

Keep up the great work.

miantiao,
