Thanks for introducing these holidays, they are very useful. In China, there is another special holiday, which called "剁手节" ( Double Eleven) it is the world largest online shopping day and it is on every year 11th of November.

You can also say "打开" ( to open something)
eg: 打开电视机( to turn on the tv)

       把门打开( to open the door)

       打开袋子 (to open the bag)

I think "不用" has another meaning, it means “don't use it" 

such as 这个杯子太丑了,我不用它了(this cup is too ugly, I don't use it anymore)

I think the sentence "律师劝说他接受法院调解" sounds very strange to me. It would sound more professional  to use the word "建议" instead of "劝说"
