July 6, 2011 at 2:49 PM为什么要用这种帐篷呢？大家都要在那儿过夜吗？我怎么从没听说过中国人喜欢去参加这种活动呢？我也要去啊！其实我去过几次在中国的野营活动，非常好玩，看路过我们的营地的农村人那么的受惊啊，像他们看到了森林中住的怪兽一样，笑死人了，特别是我的一个朋友进森林去找私人的地方办自己的事的时候，他正当在那儿蹲了下去裤子在地上的时候发现了前面竟然有只很好奇的山羊盯着他看，又发现了山羊的主人就从它背后也在盯着他看，我的朋友也没办法就微笑着打了声招呼，山羊走了，主人很尊敬地点了头继续看了几秒钟也走了。。。

Also, the example sentence before it:
房价迅速上涨，房市混乱，开发商则趁机浑水摸鱼。
(Housing prices are rapidly rising and the real estate market is chaotic. Opening up a company would be taking advantage of an opportune situation.)
This sentence seems like it should be something more like:
Housing prices are rising rapidly in a chaotic housing market. Developers, however, are taking advantage of the chaos.

I am having the same problem with this English sentence that I am with the Chinese. I understand every part, but I don't feel like I understand the sentence as a whole. It seems somehow random and slapdash. The ideas are related but not necessarily connected.

After listening to this lesson I can totally see where you are coming from in that these kinds of media lessons are rather difficult to pick apart without any transcripts or supporting materials. However, I have to agree with Jenny that at some point you have to get beyond the "spoon fed" texts and podcasts if your goal is to speak Chinese like a native speaker.
To me the most frustrating thing isn't not having the transcript in front of me, but rather the harshness of these kinds of shows on the listener's ears. I feel a little like I'm being assaulted with "bonks" and "donks" and "wawawaWAAAs". Very distracting. But, of course, a hurtle that must be overcome in order to get to the next level.
