Hi Earls, we’ve found a way to separate 倒 in the vocabulary review where it is now combined for the different meanings and pronunciations.  We should be uploading the changes tomorrow. 

As mentioned by Peony kindly refer to the pronunciations in the dialogue which are correct as well as the explanations in the lesson when to use dao3 or dao4.

To understand this idiom, think about this scenario: When the company wants to reward its employees at the end of the year, they give more to senior employees and less to new employees. This way they rank the employees according to their seniority. This is a situation of 论资排辈. 

用组词来解释就是讨论资历(seniority)来排列辈分，如果“辈分”不太好理解的话，可以联想一个词：前辈，我们会尊称比自己年长或者更加有经验的人为“前辈”，而自己是对方的“后辈”，这就体现了辈分。

That's an interesting question! 饮料 refers to drinks in plastic bottles or tins. For example, we say 瓶装饮料.

饮品 is freshly made drink and is more sophisticated in a way. Starbucks coffee and bubble tea are both 现制饮品--现场制作的饮用产品。

In general, 摒弃 means to give up. But the difference between 放弃 and 摒弃 is that 摒弃 also means to exclude. 摒弃 is often used in formal occasions and means to exclude something abstract, like ideas, thoughts and habits. 

We can say 摒弃杂念，专心工作；摒弃不良习惯；摒弃欲望。

That's a great association! Probably 夸夸其谈 is exactly what those in 夸夸群 are doing. But I would say that they use 夸夸 to make the name cute and 夸夸 sounds a lot better than just 夸.

Yes, "转机" is definitely better and more formal. As mentioned in the audio, "倒" is more often combined with buses or trains, like “倒公交车”, "倒火车" and sometimes "倒地铁". We can also say "转车" or "换乘".
