August 13, 2018 at 12:07 AMI just recently traveled abroad for 4 weeks and during the first week I had phone stolen off a scooter. I was embarrassed by how big of a loss I felt after losing it. I felt a bit of a depression- losing the photos I had, connection to people and yes! Apple Pay. It took longer than I thought to shake it off and had to go on another two weeks without my phone then I got a replacement during the last week. I read a study that was done in 2017 in the UK where they said "that losing a phone was as stressful as terrorist attack." I can't say that I felt that kind of panic but it was a much stronger blow than I expected it to be. Definitely numbing.

August 12, 2018 at 11:53 PMElijah, these are so helpful! Thank you for adding these words. Thankfully we don't need those 变压器 because of the adaptors made by Apple! That definitely saved me during my travels... I'll be honest I didn't know the behind the scenes why until you just explained it! Maybe thats why they say in the dialogue he/she didn't need one.. ;) haha! Thanks as always Elijah.

August 12, 2018 at 10:17 PMHello 西门, 手机is specifically for a handheld cell phone.电话is for any kind of phone. Today, since most people only use cell phones, they will generally refer to them either way. You are correct! Great input. Thank you so much for writing in!!

August 12, 2018 at 10:03 PMThey are similar in that they are both used in from of verbs to indicate a repetition. In many instances, they are interchangeable.
Whereas 又 is generally used to express action that is repeated in a cyclical manner (again and again) (continuity of similar movements)
"Monday went to her house. Today I went again."星期一我去她家,今天我又去了。1. 又 It means repeat or continue, 今天又下雨了。"Today it is raining again" - like once again.树又长高了 The tree is growing taller. This indicates continuation.
2. it is used for emphasis, 又 again. 又错了!"Wrong again!"
3. 又 。。。又 not only but also又认真又聪明 not only diligent, but smart
The difference is that 再 is used to express something that has not been repeated"Tomorrow, I will go and buy a book again."明天我再去买一本。
再 means the second time with an 'understood' pause between the actions让我再看一会儿电视 Let me continue to watch TV.

August 11, 2018 at 8:48 PMThank you for pointing this out, the instructions for that exercise are incorrect! They are supposed to be something like, pick the answer that does NOT work in this sentence. Sorry for that, and thank you for pointing this out.

August 8, 2018 at 11:57 PMHello, thank for your input. I'm sorry that you felt like he spoke too fast, he was trying to read it at a normal talking pace. He is actually from Shanghai, so it's not a Taiwan dialect. Fiona and Constance weren't fired, they decided to leave at the end of last year, and I'm sorry to see you go. Thank you for bringing those to our attention.
