Actually, the only true "Traditional" character taught in this lesson is the last one: 見 (which is 见 in Simplified). Everything else is the same, regardless of which you're studying.

It is true that "一" in this context is pronounced as a 2nd tone, but it can be written either way. My preference would also for it to be written as a second tone. In fact, I was in Chinese class for a year before I found out about the change in tone!

This is most definitely one of the hardest pre-intermediate lessons. The goal of an average pre-intermediate student would be to review the 太.... 了 structure. I would not expect the discussion in Chinese to be meaningful at this stage.

This is part of the "All the Way to Intermediate" series, which instead of being an ordinary dialogue-centered lesson, is more of a summary of the grammar points you need to know from the Newbie and Elementary levels. You won't find many of those usual features on these lessons.
