March 25, 2019 at 3:05 AMThis is indeed one of the hardest Intermediate lessons on ChinesePod. The list of vocabulary is already quite long! ChinesePod is working toward saving harder material like this for higher levels, when students have a larger vocabulary before attempting the lesson.

March 25, 2019 at 3:03 AMGlad it was helpful! I've been learning Chinese on ChinesePod for years, and a big reason I stay here is the way these tools interact with each other. It's great!

March 25, 2019 at 3:01 AMIt can certainly be challenging. Have you ever tried writing characters out on paper by hand? Believe it or not, learning to do that makes a huge difference.

March 25, 2019 at 2:58 AMLooks like you're right about that. It would seem the app only allows one video per lesson - meaning that the discussion doesn't show up. I tried it using Safari (instead of the app) on my iPhone, and it is accessible that way.

March 25, 2019 at 2:56 AMGood eye! I've checked several dictionaries, and in every case it's "yōngjǐ." I've reported the mistake. In the future, you can report mistakes yourself using the button on the left side of this screen called "Report a Mistake."
Thanks!

March 25, 2019 at 2:47 AMHi!
Yes, I hear what you're saying about the pronunciation of 好主意 - it's more like hǎo zhú yì.
The Pinyin at 3:43 is actually correct4: yí xiàn chéng shì. The "yī" changes to "yí" when it appears before a 4th tone word.
As to the last point on 文法: ChinesePod teaches both Traditional and Simplified. You can choose which you prefer in the "Settings" screen. Although ChinesePod began in Shanghai, it is now more diverse than it originally was, and you'll find words and expressions used throughout the Chinese-speaking community.

March 25, 2019 at 3:07 AMThere is quite a bit of English in this lesson. Intermediate lessons in general have a fair amount of English. ChinesePod's objective is to have an "even mix" of English and Chinese at this level. You can read about it here.
