June 11, 2020 at 2:09 PMGood question. The word 扮 can be translated as to disguise, to play a role, or to dress up. For example, 今年万圣节wan4sheng4jie2 (Halloween) 我想"扮"成蜘蛛人(spiderman)！
In this lesson, we talked about the saying "扮猪吃老虎". 猎人(hunter) 扮成猪(disguised himself as a pig) in order to lure the tiger to come closer.

June 11, 2020 at 1:51 PMThe 儿 has no meaning when added at the end of a word. The reason we add the 儿 at the end of a word is that the 儿 makes the flow smoother. Whether or not adding the 儿 at the back really just comes down to regional accents. In general, people in northern part of China tend to add the 儿 more often than in the south.

June 11, 2020 at 1:43 PMAs far as I knew, the word 小姐 is not an insult in several places in southern part of China. In most of the Chinese communities outside China, 小姐 is considered a polite way of calling a lady.
