if you want to say looks like can you use 像or 好像 and it would be OK?

I would like to ask is there a difference between 点 dian3 and 点儿 dian er ? or is 点儿  just the visual representation of the Beijing accent?

Or to put it another way if I see 点    can I always pronounce it as though it was written  点儿？

Thanks. I did not know it. I have only thought of using "ba" at the end of a sentence to mean "lets".

Great show- interesting and fun. I think the exam thing in China is very difficult for people in the Europe to understand. It is a real cultural difference and makes learning exchanges difficult, because students in China are just locked into rote learning with no free time to explore other interesting topics if they are not part of their exams.
