December 22, 2007 at 6:48 AMMikeinEwshot I dont know the answer to your question "are you talking to me" but I think the answer is not altering the verb, rather the structure of the sentence. So I think you say "ni gen wo yi qi shou ma?" 你跟我一起说吗? Lit. Do you with me together speak.

November 23, 2007 at 9:23 PMI agree with RJBerki that Pimsleur CD's are the best of their type. There is no doubt that CPod is better- just the sheer variety of lessons and ways of learning make it more interesting. How we learn is interesting. As a musician I thought nothing of spending at least 4 hours a day playing piano and I think it took me 12 years to really get some proficiency. So I kind a see learning Chinese as a 10 year journey.

November 3, 2007 at 7:30 AMIn the expansion "I am most afraid of being home alone" . I thought that place had to come first in the order so I wanted to say 我在家一个人最怕. wo zai jia yi ge ren zui pa. but that is not the order given and I wonder why. Thanks Keith

January 26, 2008 at 7:29 AMI have a question. I the expansion the sentence " Next time I'll give you a pair of gloves". uses yi fu shoutao 一副手套. I was expecting yi shuang 一双.So is yi fu the measure word for a pair of gloves. Also "give you" uses song 送, and I wanted to use gei 给.Is it because the sense of the sentence is that it is a gift?
