In the expansion ,the sentence "Dont worry, the meeting still has not started." Why is there no "le" after kaishi? 开始了

I notice that 事 shi4 in the vocab,is a 4th tone but I thought that it was a 2 tone when it means "matter". Does the tone change or am I incorrect? Keith

I 'd like to ask about in the Expansion section, the sentence "none of us knew". This is something that happened in the past and yet there is no "le " on the end. I expected it to be "Women dou bu zhidao le".

I like the new home page a lot. It seems easier to use. I would also like to say how useful the "The Fix" is. I can go back to a lesson -just check out the fix and you can tell straight away how much you have retained. Great addition! The other thing that is great is the Grammar guide.

I listened to The Fix before I did the expansion exercises and thought the sentnce was "Did you buy socks". I was thinking kuzi , gu piao etc.

If I want to say "Are you going to take a walk" I can use 你去散步吗? ni qu sanbu ma?but I could also say it like this :- 你要散步了吗? ni yao sanbu le ma? Is this correct?

The problem with Pinyin for beginners is that there are so many Chinese words that sound the same. However when I started to learn the characters it is easier to remember the words because the characters are very different. So my experience has been Pinyin was only a limited help , an aid to how the sound may be . If you really want to make progress cut straight to learning the characters. It does take time but gives faster progress later on.

In the expansion "the next stop is the train station" uses 下一站 but the previous sentence "There are a lot of people getting on the bus at this stop" uses 这站. I want to use 这个站 here . Why just 这站? Thanks

The dialogue mp3 seems to have a bug. It sounds a bit like Pinky and Perky. Too fast.

In the expansion exercises why is " really long" 好长( Her hair is really long.) but "really hurts" is 很痛 ( My knee really hurts.)
