August 27, 2007 at 7:47 AMhi mikeinjubei, You could say: 好吧，不说算了。 Hǎo ba, bù shuō suànle. Here, because you are not telling her to not speak, you're just agreeing, you don't use 別 (bié) + verb.

August 27, 2007 at 5:31 AMhi sparechange, and all, 真 (zhēn) is used when preceding an adjective, as in: 今天真热 (Jīntiān zhēn rè) It's really hot today. 真的 (zhēn de) is used when preceding an adverb. As in the second case: 我真的很热！ (Wǒ zhēn de hěn rè!) I am really hot! 很 (hěn), 非常 (fēicháng), etc., are adverbs, modifying the adjective.

August 29, 2007 at 9:07 AMhi lunetta and danielmasse, 兄弟 xiōng-dì means brothers (could be older or younger) 哥哥 (gēge) means older brother 弟弟 (dìdi) means younger brother 兄 (xiōng) wouldn't be used on its own to mean older brother, it must be used in combination with another word. When talking about things with a more intimate relationship to you, such as family members, or your home, you can drop the 的 (de), i.e. 我哥哥 (wǒ gēge) my older brother 我家 (wǒ jiā) my home re: correction of 一共 (yīgòng). You're right, the mouseover is in error, I will have it fixed now. Thanks for letting us know.
