Nope, no 7-11s in Shanghai. Of course there are other convenience stores, but they are not nearly as good as the old 7-11s in Taipei. Plus not nearly as many! Sometimes in Taipei there are like 3 on one block!!!

It is correct, but the meaning is a little different:
我可以教你用筷子.
Wǒ kěyǐ jiāo nǐ yòng kuàizi.
I can teach you how to use chopsticks.
我会教你用筷子.
Wǒ huì jiāo nǐ yòng kuàizi.
I will teach you how to use chopsticks.

Yes you can use 练习 (liànxí) when speaking of practicing other instruments as well.
The sentence in the expansion you mention makes use of a sentence pattern that is used to describe the way an action is carried out. You can use the pattern in full, or with the noun shortened as it is in the second example below here:
跳舞跳得优美
(Tiàowǔ tiào de yōuměi)
dances very gracefully
唱歌唱得很好
(Chànggē chàng de hěn hǎo)
sings very well
also acceptable is the shortened form, as in the expansion:
舞跳得优美
(Wǔ tiào de yōuměi)
歌唱得很好
(Gē chàng de hěn hǎo)

Wǒ bù huì yīnwèi zhè jiàn shì yǐngxiǎng bǐsài.
Kind of like in English, "Just because this thing happened, I won't let it affect my performance in the competition."
